WHAT WE DO | WHO WE AREEnhancing the quality of lifeThe Houston Young Lawyers Foundation was created in 1992 to support the charitable programs of young lawyers in Harris County. The Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality and availability of legal aid, health, human welfare, and education services provided by Greater Houston nonprofit organizations through targeted volunteering and grants, while building leadership capability through a deeper appreciation of giving. |
HYLF’s mission is to improve the quality and availability of legal aid, health, human welfare, and education. Through events and programs, we raise funds to support local charities that give back to the community in ways that further this mission. Through its Grant Program and Adopt-an-Angel Program, HYLF donates $50,000 a year toward these remarkable causes. |
HYLF is indeed a great way for young lawyers—and those young at heart—to give back and make a difference in Houston and the surrounding communities. Lawyers who get involved in HYLF can rest assured that their contributions will be put towards great causes and issues that are important to lawyers like them.
HOW WE DO ITHYLF is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of young lawyers who volunteer their time to the organization. The Board organizes programs & events each year to raise money for HYLF’s Grant Program. HYLF Fellows assist in this endeavor by contributing both their money & time to HYLF & its programs. Apart from the Grant Program is HYLF’s Adopt-an-Angel Program which raises money for impoverished children. |
